HIM Visits the Chinese Embassy

On Monday 2 February 2026, two researchers from the Human Interactive Materials (HIM) group, postdoctoral researcher Ivan Marin and PhD candidate Mathis Lagier, were invited to the Chinese Embassy in The Hague to participate in the China-Netherlands Youth Dialogue. The event brought together representatives from the Chinese embassy, Dutch government, universities, and research institutions, alongside with a visiting student delegation from Tsinghua University, providing a unique platform for exchange between Chinese and Dutch youth.

During the event, Ivan and Mathis gave a presentation on Perspectives from the Next Generation of Researchers and Innovators on the Future of Cooperation between China and Netherlands. They shared their views on how research collaborations can drive innovation and address global challenges, drawing on their experience as early-career researchers working in the Netherlands. The event offered a valuable opportunity to engage in forward-looking discussions and to strengthen mutual understanding and cooperation between young researchers from both countries.
