Danyang Wan obtained his PhD (major in organic chemistry) from Sichuan University (SCU, China) in December 2016 and his major was Organic Chemistry. His doctoral research mainly focused on oxidative cyclization of (hetero)aromatic C−H bonds and internal alkynes to construct π-conjugated heterocycles.In March 2017, he joined Xi’an Modern Chemistry Research Institute as a post-doctoral fellow and later promoted to associate professor in January 2020.His research interests encompass Calamitic Liquid Crystals, Heterocycle-Based Liquid Crystals, Liquid Crystal Chemistry and Dichroic Dyes. His current research direction is Reactive Mesogens, with a particular focus on the synthesis and properties of novel RMs.In his leisure time, Danyang enjoys reading history books and spending quality time with his children.
